Artificial intelligence is increasingly making its mark on the medical world. What has already become reality in hospitals today goes far beyond science fiction: AI helps doctors to make quicker diagnoses, detect acute conditions at an early stage, and organise patient care more efficiently. At the same time, questions arise about ethics, privacy, and the role of the physician. Medical specialists from UZ Brussel and the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at VUB demonstrate how this technology is already being applied and what future prospects it holds for healthcare.
